GAUTENG
the Sotho word meaning "Place of Gold") is the smallest of South Africa's nine provinces but the most densily populated and generates the most wealth with the highest income per capita. Many of the country's banks and large companies have their head offices in Gauteng. The Reserve Bank and the Johannesburg Stock Exchange are housed in Gauteng.
Gauteng is the gold region of South Africa and home to South Africa's largest cities Johannesburg, that includes the township of Soweto, and Pretoria. Many cultural options are offered to visitors within the fascinating cultural villages displaying the traditional ways of local tribes.
