The Lifer Boat Guest House
The house is located in Port Owen, mid-way between the adjoining towns of Laaiplek and Velddrif. This is a two-hour trip north of Cape Town on the R27.
The jetty is available for use by guests to moor their boat. Guests must be prepared to abide by the rules of the Port Owen Marine Authority.
From the jetty on the canal, it is a short trip to the Berg River, with the possibility to go to sea in St. Helena Bay. The river is navigable for about 40 Km. Abundant bird life is present on the river, while seals and whales can be seen in the bay.
